The Open Science Grid - Global Computing for Scientific Breakthrough

Scientific research is at the stage where production Grids are emerging to provide the global infrastructure needed for problem solving and scientific breakthrough. The US HEP community is collaborating with physicists, biologists, and computer scientists to build a

sustainable national Grid infrastructure in the US through the Open Science Grid Consortium.

Networks are fundamental and high speed connectivity is essential; data is pervasive and ever growing and its management and accessibility is crucial; The Open Science Grid infrastructure will support data intensive science applications which rely on the state-of-the-art
managed networks, data management, and user services to help the researchers in their quest for the understanding of the universe. Our exhibit demonstrates advanced technologies and collaborations developing this support: enormously capable networks, management of
vast amounts of data, sharing of resources worldwide, and interaction and visualization
